What’s his role and connection to the cause?

The accomplished people and program manager is a strategic thinker who’s a leader in partnership development and engagement, advocacy and policy influence, resource mobilization and more. He specializes in disaster-risk reduction, climate-change adaptation programs as well as emergency response and productive safety-net programs.

Most recently, Gutu held a senior-level position at World Vision Ethiopia’s Development Food Assistance Program, comprised of more than 500 staff and operating in three of the biggest regional states in Ethiopia.

In Ethiopia, he leads our in-country strategic growth, program development, international and domestic partnerships as well as day-to-day operations.

What academic work set him up for success?

Gutu received a doctorate in economics, agriculture and climate change from Ethiopia’s Haramaya University..
