Child advocates

We provide children with tools and training they need to access education, overcome barriers and be a voice for change. We’ve had an office in Tamale, Ghana since 1996.

WHERE
WE
WORK

We foster quality child development

In Ghana, we work with experts inside and outside our organization to support early childhood, a critical time of development. And, we’re already seeing positive change as members of a working group leading the review of the national early-childhood development policy. We hope to help improve infrastructure, sanitation facilities, teaching strategies and encourage more government involvement in supporting learning in kids between the ages of four and five.

WHAT
WE
DO

Did you know...

  • Ghana’s population is 32.8 million
  • 25.3 percent of the population lives on US$2.15/day
  • 28.8 percent of children, between the ages of seven and 14, are involved in child labour.
  • Inflation in the country rose 19 percent between the end of 2021 and July 2022

Why is early childhood education a key focus for us in Ghana?

Our director of West Africa shares how far we’ve come and what’s …

You ask. We answer. Happily.
– equal access to opportunities and resources, such as clean water, healthcare and quality education
– confidence, knowledge and leadership skills to realize their rights
– opportunities to have their voices heard through community clubs, public forums and our sponsorship programming
– the tools to play an active role in improving the systems that are supposed to protect them
And, letters sent between donor and sponsored child contribute to building a child’s confidence, so they’re encouraged to create a brighter future for themselves.
Trust and accountability are very important to us. Children Believe uses results-based management to measure and evaluate everything we do. This ensures we’re accountable to you and can achieve the greatest change for children.

As a commitment to our Christian faith principles, we want every child to feel excited and proud our name represents them and every person to feel inspired and welcome to join our cause.
