Child advocates

We provide children with tools and training they need to access education, overcome barriers and be a voice for change. We’ve had an office in Nicaragua since 1994.

WE
WORK

We empower young people to succeed

In Nicaragua, there’s an urgent need to empower young women and girls to support themselves. We’re doing that through our program, projects and a virtual platform we built to promote skills development and employability. Our goal? Spur girls — and all young people — to break barriers, inspire positive change and improve their lives.

Empowering youth, especially young women, to realize their dreams

Our country director in Nicaragua shares how her team is creating …

You ask. We answer. Happily.
– equal access to opportunities and resources, such as clean water, healthcare and quality education
– confidence, knowledge and leadership skills to realize their rights
– opportunities to have their voices heard through community clubs, public forums and our sponsorship programming
– the tools to play an active role in improving the systems that are supposed to protect them
And, letters sent between donor and sponsored child contribute to building a child’s confidence, so they’re encouraged to create a brighter future for themselves.
